Gift.

In Signs of Emergence, Kester Brewin suggest that we out to think along the lines of ‘gift’ when it comes to life as Christians. I think that this is an excellent insight. People don’t give gifts because they want something in return. We ‘gift’ to show extend relationship to the other, to offer love. When we come to Worship on Sunday mornings, we come as a gift. We come to give ourselves to God. God meets us with gift too. He brings His love and relationship to us. Not because we give Him something, but because He loves us…it is his gift to us. When we do things for others, we would do well to view what we do as our gift to them. We don’t want anything in return, if we did it wouldn’t be a gift. When others do things for us, let’s simply receive the gift.
So here is my question. Are you ‘gifting’ to other? What are you giving to God? Are you passing on the gifts others have passed on to you? How can you give your ‘gifts’ at GracePointe? Come and tell me! I want to here it and help you. As 2 Corinthians 9 reminds us, God loves a cheeful giver!
